Welcome/ Willkommen!

Eine Beschreibung der Arbeitsgruppe auf deutsch befindet sich hier (die aktuellere Version ist allerdings diese Seite).

Matthias Rillig's mycorrhizal ecology group has moved from the University of Montana (Missoula) to Freie Universität Berlin (Free University Berlin), Germany, in Spring 2007.

This page is meant to provide information for current and future  collaborators and for persons interested in joining the plant and mycorrhizal  ecology lab (PAMELA).

The research focus will stay similar, with the topic of mycorrhizal ecology  examined from the perspectives of the soil, the plant and the fungal community.

Current main research themes are:

- soil aggregation, particularly the role of mycorrhizal fungi and their interactions with other soil biota

- distribution of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal assemblages in time and space, using methods of molecular ecology

- soil biota effects on plants and plant communities, including pathogenic fungi and mycorrhizal fungi

- mycelium functioning

- biochar and hydrothermal carbonization materials

- as well as other aspects of microbial and mycorrhizal biology and ecology.
